Using Ace Services for the first time
Is Ace Services free to use as a customer?
Yes — completely free. Posting a job, receiving quotes, reviewing tradespeople, and hiring someone costs you nothing at all. We also charge tradespeople zero commission, which means the quotes you receive are not inflated to cover platform fees.
How do I download the app and post my first job?
Download the Ace Services app from the App Store or Google Play. Then:
- Verify your phone number via SMS.
- Tap Post a Job.
- Select your service type and answer a few guided questions — our AI assistant helps you describe the work clearly.
- Add photos if helpful.
- Submit — local verified tradespeople will start sending you quotes.
Why do I need to verify my phone number?
Phone verification is how we ensure every job request comes from a real person. It significantly reduces time-wasters and fake listings, which means tradespeople respond faster and more seriously to your job. Your number is kept private until you actively choose to hire someone.
Is my personal information kept private?
Yes. Your phone number and email address are never shared with tradespeople while they are quoting. They only become visible to the specific tradesperson whose quote you choose to accept. Everyone else remains unable to see your contact details.
This means no unsolicited calls, no spam, and no pressure — you stay in full control throughout the process.
Creating and managing your job requests
What happens after I post a job?
Your job is immediately visible to verified local tradespeople who cover your area and trade category. You will receive a push notification each time a new quote comes in. You can then review each tradesperson's profile, Trust Score, and reviews at your own pace — there is no pressure to decide quickly.
How many quotes will I receive?
Each job receives a maximum of 3 quotes. We deliberately cap this to avoid overwhelming you with choices and to ensure tradespeople put genuine effort into their quotes rather than mass-applying. Three quality options are more useful than ten generic ones.
Job status not updating — how do I refresh?
Pull down on the My Jobs screen to manually refresh and load the latest information. If it still looks stale, check your internet connection and try closing and reopening the app.
How do I cancel a job I posted?
You can close a job at any time:
- Go to My Jobs.
- Select the job you want to close.
- Tap Close Job.
If you hired someone through the platform, please consider leaving a review to help other customers.
Can I edit a job after posting it?
You can edit certain details of a job while it is still open and no quotes have been accepted. Go to My Jobs → [job] → Edit.
If quotes have already been submitted, editing is restricted to avoid giving an unfair advantage. If you need significant changes, close the job and post a new one.
Reviewing quotes and choosing a tradesperson
What is a Trust Score?
A Trust Score is a combined rating for each tradesperson on our platform. It draws on their imported Google and Facebook reviews, ratings from previous Ace Services customers, and their years of experience. It helps you choose quality tradespeople — not just the cheapest option.
What happens after I accept a quote?
Once you accept a quote, the tradesperson is notified and your contact details (phone and email) become visible to them. They will get in touch shortly to confirm details and schedule the work. All other quotes on that job are automatically declined.
Can I cancel an accepted quote?
Yes. Go to My Jobs → [job] → View Quote → Cancel. The tradesperson will be notified automatically.
What happens if a provider cancels their accepted quote?
If a tradesperson cancels after acceptance, you will be notified immediately. You can then review any remaining quotes on your job, or close the job and post a new one to receive fresh quotes.
How do I know the tradespeople are genuine and trustworthy?
We take quality seriously. Every tradesperson on Ace Services:
- Must verify their phone number to create an account.
- Has their Google and Facebook reviews publicly displayed on their profile.
- Accumulates a Trust Score based on their history on the platform.
- Can be reviewed by you after the job is complete.
We recommend checking a tradesperson's profile, reviews, and Trust Score before accepting any quote.
Leaving and managing reviews
How do I leave a review for a tradesperson?
Once the work is complete, close the job to leave your review:
- Go to My Jobs and select the completed job.
- Tap Close Job.
- The accepted tradesperson will be pre-selected.
- Submit your review and star rating.
Your review is visible on the tradesperson's profile and helps other customers make informed decisions.
Can I edit or remove a review I left?
You can request a review edit within 7 days of posting it. Contact support@aceservices.app with your name, the tradesperson's name, and the updated review text.
What if a tradesperson asks me to remove a negative review?
You are never obligated to remove or change a genuine review. Our review policy protects honest feedback. If a tradesperson is pressuring you to remove a legitimate review, please report it to support@aceservices.app — this behaviour may result in action against their account.
App issues and account management
I can't log in to my account — what should I do?
Try the following:
- Tap Send Login Link on the login screen to receive an SMS code.
- If you no longer have access to your registered number, email support@aceservices.app with your name and registered email address.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account and confirm. This permanently removes your account, job history, and personal data from our platform.
The app is crashing or not working correctly.
Please try these steps in order:
- Force-close and reopen the app.
- Check for updates in the App Store or Google Play.
- Restart your phone.
- Uninstall and reinstall the app (your account data is safe).
If the problem persists, email support@aceservices.app with your device model, OS version, and a description of the issue.
I'm not receiving notifications about my job.
Check the following:
- Phone settings — ensure notifications are enabled for Ace Services in your device settings.
- In-app settings — go to Profile → Notifications and confirm alerts are turned on.
- Do Not Disturb — check your phone is not silencing app alerts.
